Ski Montcalm was founded in 1969 by Tadek Barnowski. Ski champion in Poland, his dream was to build and operate a ski resort in Canada. His job as a ski lift engineer brought him to Quebec, to Rawdon in Lanaudière. He discovered the mountain and began to clear and erect ski lifts on it which would later become Ski Montcalm. Passionate about skiing, an industry pioneer and innovator, he develops the three sides of the mountain by creating a variety of slopes and a ski area never seen before in the region.
