Hiking day trip, or hike and canoe at Mont-Tremblant National Park

Protected area. Enriching nature experiences.

Created on January 12, 1895, Mont Tremblant National Park is a large protected territory of 1510 km2 (583 square miles) that enjoys an international stature, being the first park created in Quebec, the third in Canada , and the sixth in North America. It is therefore part of the world history of protected areas along with Yellowstone, Banff, Yosemite, and Sequoia parks. With its six great rivers and 400 lakes and streams, it’s a canoer’s paradise. This wilderness is so vast that it is home to 40 mammal species, including the wolf. Mont Tremblant National Park is open year-round and has something for everyone.

The Pimbina area, a central place to explore

Hiking trails, lakes, and more

L’Envol hiking train (means “to fly”) takes you to lake views on belvedeers over the Pimbina Valley. You will cross the typical yellow birch and maple forest found all over Mon Tremblant National Park. The Chute-aux-rats hiking trail (named after muskrats) is perfect for an afternoon hike along the lakes and river. You might as well rent a floating device and canoe your way across lake Provost ($), spend some hours at the beach, or swim in fresh waters.

Be well prepared, time and time again

Enjoy an autonomous discovery day at the Pimbina area in Mont Tremblant National Park, for an accessible wildlife experience in protected nature. Be well prepared for your day trip and think of bringing a swimsuit, some sunglasses, good walking shoes, solar cream, and mosquito repellent. Then, bring a lunch and a water bottle, or buy some on the way to the park
