What is the St-Côme en Glace Festival?

It is a tradition of talents and passions and the work of more than 200 artisans. It is the hard work of several volunteers who, year after year, come to sculpt blocks of ice to create magnificent masterpieces. People come from all over to admire the magnificent sculptures that stand all along Main Street.

The St-Côme en Glace Festival is one of a kind. This 43st edition is therefore an event not to be missed!

To complete this day and make the most of the joys of winter, it is possible to snowshoe on the trails of the municipality, there are restaurants nearby, free shows and entertainment for all.

    Departure near the Radisson metro station at 8:30 a.m. and arrival in Saint-Côme around 10:00 a.m..

    Start your day with a beautiful hike using snowshoes, boots, or crampons along the municipal trails, beginning at the Marion trailhead on Rue Principale and passing by the must-visit Halte à Gérard. Over 11 km of trails are accessible within the village area. Don’t have snowshoes? No problem! You can rent them at Origine Atelier Boutique, located just steps away from the trailhead.     Looking for something different? Join an outdoor yoga workshop with Idolem at Parc de l’Harmonie at 11:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

    After your time in nature, enjoy a grilled hot dog at Halte à Gérard as part of the festivities, savor your packed lunch at Parc de l’Harmonie, or treat yourself to a delicious meal and refreshments at a local restaurant or microbrewery.

    In the afternoon, stroll along the lively Rue Principale, marveling at the impressive ice sculptures and soaking up the festive atmosphere. Music lovers can head to Parc de l’Harmonie at 2:00 p.m. for a live performance by The Traveling Band (a tribute to CCR) that will keep you moving and warm!

    Want to try your hand at ice sculpting? Perfect timing! A beginner’s workshop led by Marc Riopel will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the corner of 36th Avenue and Rue Principale—don’t miss it!

    Wrap up the day by boarding the minibus at 4:30 p.m. for the return trip to Montreal after an exciting day in Saint-Côme.

    Bring your snowshoes or rent them ($), wear warm weather-appropriate clothing, and don’t forget your reusable water bottle.
