Meet at the boarding point at the Radisson metro station exit at 1:00 p.m. (by metro, bus, taxi or other means of transport). Your guide-driver will be waiting for you to welcome you aboard the Bonjour Nature vehicle for a ride in a comfortable minibus.
Once on board, let yourself be transported as your guide shares with you the culture and history of the region.
To stretch your legs and discover a local family agro-tourism business, the adventure continues with a visit to La Terre des Bisons, a breeding farm focusing on bison and elk since 1994. Visit the farm, the interpretation center including the exhibition room which tells the history of bisons, the multimedia room which tells the legend of the bison woman, a legend of the first nations, then follow the trail exterior interpretation where you can observe the herds in the pastures.
When you get back on the road around 3:15 p.m., you will head to Kinadapt for an immersion in the heart of the pack of huskies. As soon as you arrive, the staff will welcome you and then give you a safety briefing so that you can walk around the site freely in complete harmony with the dogs. Then make yourself comfortable in the camp and prepare yourself a nice hot meal in the “ready to camp” area.
After enjoying your breakfast, the Authentic activity awaits you for a full day with an adventure guide for an unforgettable moment. Your experienced guide will accompany you in learning the technique of driving a dog sled and in harnessing your team of dogs, then you will leave with your own sled for a ride of 8 to 10 kilometers. After bringing your dogs back to the kennel, a meal will await you in the sugar shack in the company of your guide who will tell you the history of dog sledding and many anecdotes about the life of the pack. Did you know that during big snowstorms, mushers have to clear the trail for their dogs on snowshoes? You will be invited to follow in their footsteps by exploring the trails on snowshoes in the company of several free dogs. Keep your eyes open for the chance to observe traces of wild animals on the territory. When you return, you will be invited to feed the dogs, a great way to say thank you! Free evening on the site, dinner with local product included in the stay.
After enjoying your breakfast, make the most of the facilities during the morning then vacate your camp. Your driver guide will be on site around 12:45 a.m. Around 1 p.m., a meal stop is planned at a local restaurant (meal at your own expense).
For the next and final stop, we are in Nouvelle Acadie, in Saint-Jacques de Montcalm, for a visit and tasting at the Distillerie du Grand Dérangement. This strange, crooked building houses the distillery and the distiller’s economuseum. You will learn the process of distilling gin, vodka and whiskey, the principles of grain to bottle and the circular economy used on site as well as the history of distillation in Quebec. The visit ends with a product tasting and a visit to the economuseum. An unmissable discovery in the cradle of New Acadia.
Then climb aboard one last time in Montreal’s direction after a stay in the beautiful region of Lanaudière. Return to Montreal between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
