Departure will take place near metro Radisson at 8 AM. Photo opportunity on top of Montagne Coupee belvedere. Arrival to Val Notre-Dame Abbey in Saint-Jean-de-Matha. Workshop according to schedule, time at leisure on site the rest of the day. Use your free time to visite the abbey and its store, or hike the trails at your own pace. Think about bringing some lunch and a water bottle. We meet back by 5:15 PM, then arrival to Montreal around 6:30 PM.

Learn more about edible forest products with your host and forest guide during this 3-hour workshop. According to season, learn about various wild edible vegetables, berries, mushrooms and flowers, some of which are used as spices, aromatic herbs or herbal teas. May the forest be revealed as your next pantry!
Harvest your own herbal tea

Get an introduction to twelve herbs used for making tea during the first part of this workshop, then learn how to harvest and dry them. Then, get to practice your new skills while finding and picking them on abbey’s land. The best part: you bring home what you pick, so you can make your own teas!

Start the day with a guided hike hosted by Jean-Guy Sergerie, which will tell you all about ethical forest harvesting, especially how particular plants are fragile and vulnerable. Then, enjoy a gastronomic picnic in a wild forest hideout, going through a 4-service meal cooked on a specially made wood stove. Enjoy some revisited classics with a wild twist under a luxurious canopy.
